There is no clear relationship between age and gender, but the pathology is somewhat more common among young and middle-aged women. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"who-we-container\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anal fissures can be acute and chronic. If left untreated, the acute form becomes chronic in about 30-40 days. Connective tissue grows along the edges of the wound, which gradually becomes denser, loses elasticity and becomes a favorable environment for pathogenic microbes.
