Ultrasound of lymph nodes is a universal and convenient method of instrumental diagnosis.

Indications for the diagnosis of lymph nodes include their enlargement, consolidation, or painful sensations, and an increase in body temperature.
There are no contraindications.

Each lymph node has a capsule from which so-called trabeculae, formed by connective tissue, originate. During the examination, the doctor diagnoses the outlines of the capsules, their shape, differentiation into structures, and the nature of blood flow (strengthened or atypical).

DIAGNOSIS IS USEFUL IN CASES OF:

General weakness, frequent headaches, fever of unknown origin.

Lymphadenopathy (enlargement in size) in viral, bacterial, parasitic, and fungal infections – pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis, rubella, herpes, inflammatory diseases of the organs of the small pelvis, etc. The list of diseases is very wide.

Connective tissue diseases.

Suspected oncological diseases.

Special preparation is only required for the diagnosis of lymph nodes in the retroperitoneal space – they are diagnosed on an empty stomach. No preparation is required for other groups of lymph nodes.
