Radiowave treatment of anal fissures

An anal fissure is a defect of the anal mucosa, which is a wound formed as a result of its rupture. The defect is most commonly found on the anterior and posterior walls of the anal canal, much less commonly in the lateral part.

In the list of proctologic diseases, this pathology is the third most common (after hemorrhoids and paraproctitis). There is no clear relationship between age and gender, but the pathology is somewhat more common among young and middle-aged women.

Anal fissures can be acute and chronic. If left untreated, the acute form becomes chronic in about 30-40 days. Connective tissue grows along the edges of the wound, which gradually becomes denser, loses elasticity and becomes a favorable environment for pathogenic microbes. Over time, persistent trophic changes occur in pathological areas, and coarse scar tissue is formed.

The formation of cracks is always accompanied by discomfort and pain, so the pathology cannot go unnoticed for a long time and not cause concern.
Causes of anal fissures: Toggle Button
injuries of the mucous membrane;
frequent constipation and/or diarrhea;
congenital abnormalities of the intestines;
hemorrhoids;
sphincter spasms caused by pathologies of the nervous system;
chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastritis, colitis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, cholecystitis).
The main symptoms of anal fissures: Toggle Button
intense burning pain during (and after) bowel movements;
itching in the anus after bowel movements;
slight bleeding (traces of blood remain on the underwear, toilet paper);
sphincter spasms, which provoke even more intense pain.
Diagnosis of anal fissures

During the visit, the proctologist will systematize your complaints, take anamnesis and conduct an examination using a finger examination of the lower rectum. An anoscopy is prescribed to exclude diagnostic errors. Similar symptoms are observed in paraproctitis, Crohn’s disease, tumors of the rectum and anal canal, endometriosis.

In the acute form, the doctor will find a linear or elliptical mucosal defect with irregular edges.

A chronic anal fissure is characterized by enlarged, smoothed wound edges with pronounced signs of granulation (fibrous changes).
